Set Up WhatsApp Marketing Channel

This is the complete guide to set up the WhatsApp marketing channel in the Hextom Multi-Channel Marketing (previously known as SPM) app. We use Gupshup, an official WhatsApp business service provider, to facilitate your WhatsApp marketing. Learn more about Gupshup here.



Configuration guide


1. Go to the App, then navigate to the 'Marketing Channels' page and click on the 'WhatsApp' tab. as shown in the screenshot below.

2. To use WhatsApp marketing, a phone number is mandatory. Our App offers two options to suit your needs, "Shared Number" and "Dedicated Number".



Shared Number


Using Shared Number simplifies your WhatsApp marketing. Our app provides a registered WhatsApp business phone number that's shared among all users. You can use this number for your store's WhatsApp marketing without needing to register separately. To use the shared number, simply:

  1. Turn on the "WhatsApp" on this page in the app.
  2. Click "Save".

You’re all set! You can now start collecting WhatsApp subscribers and sending marketing messages. If you prefer to use the shared number, you can skip the rest of this guide and start enjoying the benefits of WhatsApp marketing right away!


Dedicated Number


If you prefer to use your own phone number for WhatsApp marketing, select this option.

Important Note: If you already use WhatsApp to communicate with customers, be aware that the same phone number can't be used for both WhatsApp Marketing and your WhatsApp app. Registering WhatsApp marketing with the same number will disable that number for logging in to your WhatsApp app. To avoid this issue, we recommend:

  • Using a separate phone number for WhatsApp marketing.
  • Utilizing the "Shared Number" option provided by our app.


To begin the registration process, please follow the steps below:

  1. Click the "Onboard Dedicate Number" button, as shown in the screenshot.


  1. Next, you'll be redirected to the WhatsApp onboarding page (shown below). Click the "Continue with Facebook" button to begin the quick and easy onboarding process.


  1. Login with your Facebook business account.


  1. Once logged in, click the "Get Started" button to start the onboarding process.


  1. Fill your Meta (Facebook) business account information or create a new one.


  1. Enter the phone number you want to use for WhatsApp marketing.


  1. After verifying your phone number, click "Continue".


  1. Select your newly added phone number and click "confirm".

  1. It may take a few minutes for your account to be created. Please wait patiently, then you will see the following success page.

  1. After that, please go back to the "Marketing channel" page in the app, click "I have connected" button on the popup.


Your WhatsApp marketing channel is now active and ready to use. Start to send WhatsApp messages and reach your audience with WhatsApp marketing.
