Welcome Drip Automation
Welcome your new subscribers with exclusive discounts! With our Welcome Drip Automation, you can easily send up to 3 personalized messages offering discount codes or product deals, helping you boost sales effortlessly.
In this article, we'll explain how the feature works and guide you through setting it up for your store.
Setting Up Welcome Drip Automation
To get started, access the Welcome Drip by clicking on Automations in the sidebar of the store, and then click the Activate button besides the automation.
After clicking, you'll be redirected to a new page where you can start configuring the automation. First, choose the channel through which the automation will send messages to subscribers.
If multiple channels are selected, you can prioritize which channel will trigger the automation. This ensures that even if a subscriber is only subscribed to one of the selected channels, they'll still be eligible for the automation.
You can drag a Channel to change its priority over other channels. Next, you'll see the Message Status, which you can enable or disable based on whether you want multiple messages sent to a subscriber. From Step 4 onwards, we'll focus on configuring the first message.
Directly below Message Status, is the configuration for the timing when the message will be sent to the subscriber .
Here you can also offer a discount code, although this requires the Discount code to be created directly in the Shopify Admin > Discounts first. Once set up, copy and paste the code into the box below. For reference on setting-up the discount code, visit Shopify Discounts Article
In the Professional Plan, the Offer Unique Discount Code option is available.
This feature requires the app to have permission to manage discounts. When enabled, this can create a unique, one-time use discount code for each subscriber, helping prevent code abuse.
After deciding on the timing and whether to offer a discount, you can configure the message notification. On the left side, you'll find editable fields like Title, Description, Link, Button (text and link), Icon, and Image.
The preview on the right helps you visualize how the notification will appear across different platforms. The image below shows a Windows 10 reference, highlighting the corresponding sections on the left.
An example of a finished notification would be something like this:
- Once you've finalized the configurations, click Save at the bottom of the page to apply your changes.
The automation is now enabled! The automation we created sends two messages.
If we would like to make changes, you can click on Edit, and make changes to enable the third message. You can also view performance insights on the Automations page. If you'd like to stop the automation, simply click Pause.
